The Pitt Box
Outdoor Kennel With Dog Run

Custom Designed for The Department of Homeland Security's
United States Customs and Border Protection Agency

Our outdoor kennels are built to house up to a 100lb dog. The front entrance of the Pitt Box is easily accessible and can be secured with a common pad lock.


Our outdoor kennels are made of durable 6061 aircraft aluminum and will last a minimum of twenty years. The same material was used on the Gateway Arch located in St. Luis back in 1963.


We designed and fabricated the Pitt Box for The Department of Homeland Security. They had a specific need in mind when we designed this dog kennel for them.

These are the specifications of the Pitt Box:
• Kennel run - 96” L x 41.5” W x 48” H
• Dog house – 33.75” x 41.5” W x 27” H
• All aluminum construction
• Insulation edge slats are rounded to prevent cuts
• Construction is fully welded panels
• Assembled with stainless steel bolts
• Floor is non-porous PVC
• Floor is sloped to facilitate wash out
• No mesh anywhere on kennel
• No keyed entry. Kennel must have a hasp to secure with a padlock
• Kennel fit mandatory home kennel requirement set forth by CCEP

We designed the roof to the Pitt Box with a curved rooftop to help to reduce the amount of leaves or other such types of debris from sitting on top of the outdoor kennel. The roof also provides the dog with adequate shade so they are not exposed to direct sunlight.

Inside each Pitt Box is a drain system that allows liquids to run to the back of the the kennel into a waste receptacle, which can be connected to a sewage system.


The dog kennel is manufactured with 304 series aluminum as well and it has a lid allowing for easy cleanup.



Ventilation ports are found on either side of the enclosure of the doghouse that can be adjusted from the inside, as well as the outside.

The flooring of the Pitt Box is made of a smooth removable plastic that is bacteria free. It cannot hold virus or bacteria matter.


The base does not need to be removed to be cleaned. You can easily keep the base free of debris by simply using a water hose and nozzle.


When it comes time to really clean the base, you can easily remove it and sanitize it with any household cleaning products.
